What is Fracture Cover?

Accidents can and do happen. Fracture cover provides valuable protection against up to 18 fractures, ligament tears, tendon ruptures or dislocations over a 12-month period. It will potentially pay out a lump sum of up to £6000 giving you financial help while you recover from your injury.

Depending on the insurance provider, this can be purchased as a stand-alone product or as a bolt-on with a Life Insurance product.

Why should I need Fracture Cover?

If an accident happens, you get paid out.

You want to put everything into your job, sport or that special experience, so you don’t want to worry about that possible incident. Also, the unexpected injury that occurs whilst doing something totally obscure.

If you do suffer an injury, you could be out of action for a while, and that could affect your employment, lifestyle etc. Your finances will probably suffer too if you experience a loss of earnings, need specialist treatment or equipment. You’d be surprised how things can add up, but you can make sure a sudden injury doesn't hit you where it hurts.

 

 

How does Fracture Cover work?

Fracture Cover covers you for a specified range of fractures, ligament tears and tendon ruptures, or a dislocation, over 12 months. (See diagram below)

If you do suffer an injury, make a claim and then you can get paid a lump sum of up to £6,000.

What injuries are covered?

  • Fracture your knee or upper leg or suffer an open fracture of the skull

  • Dislocate your spine, hip, patella, knee ankle or shoulder

  • Rupture your Achilles

  • Fracture your lower leg or suffer a closed fracture of the skull

  • Rupture your quadriceps

  • Tear the ligament in your knee

  • Fracture your arm, jaw, vertebrae, pelvis, ankle, shoulder blade, sternum, wrist or foot (excluding toes)

  • Dislocate any other joints

  • Rupture your rotator cuff or bicep

  • Tear the ligament in your hamstring or ankle

  • Fracture your cheekbone, collarbone, ribs or hand (excluding fingers and thumbs)

 

 

How much is Fracture Cover?

Your monthly payment or premiums will depend on several factors like your age, health status, the type of cover you choose and the term you select. These will be explained by our protection specialists and detailed on your quote and policy.
